Genuine thanks to the #BikeTooter community out here posting about your rides and encouraging each other (and me) regardless of ability. I never thought of myself as someone who rides to work in winter because I'm not a "serious biker" all lycra'd up (biking culture in middle US isn't great y'all) but I've moved from that maximalist mindset to an opportunistic one.
I rode twice to work this week, which is two times more than I would ever have imagined. Yesterday was basically a spring day and I took advantage of my flexibility to go in later in the day (the other day looked miserably gray and cold but I was still happy to be on the bike). Also, you're not too old and out of shape to start, I'm not young and I'm pretty slow and I have an e-bike (intentionally very anemic 30Nm motor but enough to give me assurance when I feel tired and daunted). There's really no point to this post except wanted to share something positive and be grateful.
Special shootout to @SRLevine and @BongoTwisty for their consistent support despite being much more avid bikers.
