@skinnylatte it's the best!

@skinnylatte This is so damn true! Hahah.
Tech, cooking, sewing, legal stuff, writing, pretty much anything. We have a bottomless wealth of human knowledge here - which comes with a sense of responsibility. Something AI doesn't have.

And, unlike ChatGPT, their replies are correct. And come with a lot of accurate citations.

@RachelThornSub @skinnylatte Honestly, it depends. One of the reasons why I love BSD and #Gentoo is that the BSD and Gentoo communities are *very* inviting and there are (almost) no questions considered "too dumb".

I think this XKCD sums it up perfectly -

@skinnylatte
And that is soooo fabulous!! -
@jaBote @skinnylatte most of my toots are followers only. I was recommended draw.io, excalidraw.com and PowerPoint
-
@skinnylatte @qgustavor
That sometimes happened to me, too.
It often helps to try again by boosting my own post. Don't be ashamed to boost yourself!(I looked for that post on your profile to boost it, but couldn't find it.)
-
@RachelThornSub@famichiki.jp @skinnylatte@hachyderm.io out of curiosity, what forums do you mean? the ones i used/use were quite civil (usually)
-
@laguiri @jaBote @skinnylatte ooh, excalidraw is good, i was reccomended it by someone on vrchat lol
-
@skinnylatte looks like a collective intelligence

-
@skinnylatte I just did this for a very specific question in a lounge slack channel at work and now I have answers, new questions answered and a couple of people I get to know more. Asking actual people is the best thing ever

@cwicseolfor @skinnylatte
Three for three here, cwicseolfor.
The Fediverse hive mind is astounding! -
@_elena @cwicseolfor @skinnylatte
Sadly, it hasn't worked for me
I would still love to get a recommendation for 3D modeling software that would let me complete my walkthrough model of the airship from my books. -
@AbramKedge you just don't have the right friends
jokes aside, it is a bit hit and miss. I've had open questions that were answered after TWO YEARS and others that were answered within minutes. -
@skinnylatte Autistic acquaintances in question:
-
"You should always carry a pocket knife when you go walking in the woods. Because if you get lost, sit down and start sharpening it and a man will *immediately* appear to tell you you're doing it wrong, and you can ask him the way back to the road"
-
@skinnylatte You will get an even better response if you are posting some slightly wrong information. This will not just trigger the Autists but the OCD-people as well.
